INTRODUCTORY REMARKS ABOUT THIS WEB-SITE
One first remit of this site is to provide an alphabetical overview on A.I. Terms and Acronyms.
The remit of this website is not to explain A.I. per se.
This task turned out to be more difficult than initially assumed.
A.I. has many dimensions and needs to be put in context and juxtaposed to other developments like Industry 4.0 (U.S.: Industrial Internet), to the Semantic Web or Linked Open Data principles.
A.I. is based (in essence) on three factors:
i) massive amounts of data, predominantly unstructured data;
ii) ever more powerful algorithms;
iii) availability of ever more processing power (often cloud-based).
Next to the „Acronyms“ and „Definitions of A.I.-terms“ this site offers the possibility to provide comments (please refer to the tab Blog).
For all these different aspects of A.I., this website contains links to other websites (resources) which actually provide the explanation of the different elements.
Legal: The external links allow to identify the source of the resource and in addition, those sources of the information are explicitly provided.
My own background is rather in the world of the Semantic Web. I am still wondering whether the provision of the Structured Meta-Data as this is the case in the Semantic Web in combination with A.I.-Technology would not lead to further advances.
